公園に面した細長い敷地に計画した、３人家族のための小さな住宅です。敷地は路地の突き当たりに位置し、両隣の敷地から部分的に飛び出すような形状をしています。正面には公園が広がっていますが、そのあいだに川が流れ、地盤の高さも異なり、針葉樹が並んでいることから、直接的なつながりはありません。しかし、それらの要素がかえって公園を借景とするには理想的な条件となっていました。

建物の配置は、外壁の後退や建ぺい率といった法的条件、敷地形状や駐車スペースの確保といった与条件から自然と導き出されました。さらに、容積率や北側斜線といった規制により、建物の気積もおおよそ決まっていきました。

家族が集う生活の中心を2階にまとめ、一室空間としています。1階には寝室や水まわり、ワークスペースなどを配置し、生活の機能を上下に分ける構成としました。階高はできるだけ抑えつつ、2階の天井高さはしっかりと確保し、ダイニングにはあえて天井を設けることで、空間に変化とアクセントを与えています。

また、階高を抑えたことで、2階の梁の下端高さは床から1,960mmと、一般的な感覚からするとかなり低い位置にあります。通常は見上げる存在である構造体が身体の近くにあることで、空間に独特の存在感をもたらしました。この気づきを起点として、筋交いや階段まわり、手すり、タイルの目地など、日常に潜む「かたち」を丁寧に引き出すようにデザインを行いました。そうしたささやかな形の集まりが、日々の暮らしのなかでふと意識される瞬間を生み出し、空間に豊かな彩りを添えています。

This is a small house for a family of three, planned on a long, narrow site facing a park. The site is located at the end of an alley, and is shaped in such a way that it partially juts out from the neighboring sites on either side. There is a park in front of the house, but there is no direct connection between the two sites, as there is a river running between them, the ground levels are different, and there are rows of coniferous trees. However, these elements actually created ideal conditions for using the park as a backdrop.

The layout of the building was naturally derived from legal requirements such as the setback of the exterior walls and the building coverage ratio, as well as given conditions such as the shape of the site and the availability of parking spaces. Furthermore, the building volume was roughly determined by regulations such as the floor area ratio and the north slope.The plan calls for the center of family life to be concentrated on the second floor, in a single space.

The first floor is home to bedrooms, bathrooms, workspaces, etc., with the living functions divided between upper and lower levels. While keeping the floor height as low as possible, the ceiling height on the second floor has been ensured, and a ceiling has been deliberately installed in the dining area, adding variety and accent to the space.

In addition, by keeping the floor height low, the bottom of the beams on the second floor is 1,960 mm above the floor, which is quite low by normal standards. Having a structure that is usually looked up at close to the body gives the space a unique presence. Starting from this realization, we designed it to carefully bring out the "shapes" hidden in everyday life, such as the braces, staircases, handrails, and tile joints. The collection of such small shapes creates moments that are suddenly noticed in daily life, adding a rich color to the space.
